Infinx a global leader in the field of Healthcare Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) Services announces its plans for ICD-10 readiness. Recently HHS announced its intent to delay the implementation of International Classification of Diseases, 10th Edition diagnosis and procedure codes (ICD-10) until October 1, 2014, from the original implementation date of October 1, 2013. Its now only 27 months before ICD-10 becomes a reality and there are many fundamentals that need addressing. Infinx is planning ahead and is adopting a step-by-step approach to keep the transition from becoming overwhelming as we get closer.
Infinx currently works to support Medical Billing Companies, Radiology/Dental Groups and LTC Pharmacy Practices by providing them with turnkey Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) and IT Software Solutions. Infinx has formed a cross-functional project team to organize and manage the implementation efforts for ICD-10. The initial team will include core members of the coding team who will prepare a project summary to include description of the regulations, changes in the code sets and the scope of internal and external work flow processes with the help of our industry partners from HBMA and RBMA. This project summary and outline once completed will serve as a roadmap for training additional staff which Infinx plans in doing over batches in the next 18 months, completing the implementation well in advance to help mitigate any loss of productivity once ICD-10 is fully implemented. Infinx is also working with its strategic customers to implement customer specific transition plans for ICD-10.
